The Fourth of July is celebrated throughout the US, but probably nowhere with as much enthusiasm, excitement and meaningful re-enactments as are found at the northwest corner of Gilman and Church streets in Wells, Maine.

The extended family of  Jim  and Corrine Pickett is joined by neighbors and friends for this annual event of many years' standing. Pickett family members come from as far away as South Carolina and  Texas to be a part of this family and neighborhood-oriented observance.

There are lots of people who enjoy this special event at the Picketts', and so there are lots of pictures on this and the next few pages.
